urlrunner
A small Objective-C macOS utility that registers a urlrunner:// URL scheme so links in a browser can open local files or reveal them in Finder (shift-click to open). Built by me for Luma Pictures' internal tooling in 2011.

A Link That Opens Your Disk
At Luma, our internal web tools knew exactly where a file lived on the shared storage, and the artist could see that path in the browser, but the browser couldn't do anything with it. So in October 2011 I wrote a small Objective-C utility for OSX that registers a urlrunner:// scheme. Click a link and Finder opens with the file selected. Shift-click and it opens the file. It takes paths like urlrunner:///Volumes/ or a path straight to somebody's desktop.
It was an internal tool on an internal network, built for Luma Pictures, and it saved people a lot of trips through file dialogs every day.
It took sixteen days, and on October 28 I tagged it. Four years later I went back, cleaned it up and called it v1.0.0.
