A Note To Delete Later
Mud's welcome note opens with "Thanks for giving Mud a try" and tells you to delete it when you don't need it anymore. Then it turns into a list: place names like Sedona, Yellowstone and Iguacu that were going to be theme names, then hotkeys (ctrl+n, ctrl+o, zoom in and out), then wants: configurable hotkeys, a command palette, a bigger cursor, full block select, double click the header for focus mode, convert emojis. Then sync targets: Confluence, GitHub wiki, GitHub, gist, Dropbox, iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive. It ends with a heart.
So the first document the app opened was also my to-do list. I started it on December 21st, 2023: a native macOS markdown editor built in Flutter with macos_ui for the platform look, the AppFlowy editor for the writing surface, Isar for local storage, secure bookmarks so it kept access to files across launches, and window management.
None of the sync targets got built, and the hotkeys stayed a wish list.
