Chrome And Neon

juke.sh/BOX is a 3D Spotify jukebox modeled on a fifties diner record machine, chrome and neon, built in Three.js. Your playlists become the records on the drum. All the card art is procedural, so a thousand track jukebox doesn't need a thousand images.

I'm really happy with the auth. It uses PKCE, so everyone signs in with their own Spotify account and every API call goes straight from their browser to Spotify. No server proxy, no shared rate limit, and none of my credentials in the middle. Playback needs an active device on your account for play, pause and next to work.

It's all drag. Left and right spins the drum, and the spin speed scales with the size of the deck so a big library doesn't whip past you. Up and down blends between a Roller Rink look and Classic. Tap a card to play it, tap again to deselect. Arrow keys nudge the spin and the row count, C toggles category labels, and there's a /dev route with fake procedural tracks that works in production so you can try it without logging in.

May 2026, shipped, and later ported to a Tish branch.
