Which Of These Is A Repo

By April 2026 I had years of old drives and a question: out of several thousand folders, which ones are git repositories, and which of those don't exist anywhere else?

Backup Viewer is a local Next.js app. You set SCAN_ROOT_PATH in a .env and it walks that tree, skipping node_modules and .git, and saves directory rows and git config details into SQLite through sql.js. The API checks that any override path stays under the configured root. It shows you the tree with the repos marked, and it can create GitHub remotes and push in bulk for the folders you pick, so saving a pile of orphaned repos is one batch job instead of an evening of copying URLs.
