A Cloud In The Menu Bar

There are a million weather apps and I still wanted mine in the menu bar, so in early November 2017 I spent a week building one. Electron for the shell, React 16 inside, and settings saved to a local JSON file so there's no account.

I paid for FontAwesome Pro icons for it, for an app only I was going to use. A menubar app is basically an icon and a number, so I wanted the sun to look right at sixteen pixels.

There was a server too, weather-server, sitting between the app and the weather data so the API key didn't ship inside the desktop app. Six days start to finish. That November I was building a bunch of little tools for myself at night, and Diet Victory started twelve days later.
