Universal React, Briefly
tissue-nexpo was a six-day experiment in March 2020 with something a lot of people were trying that year: one codebase that runs as a native app and a website. Expo on one side, Next.js on the other, with expo/next-adapter connecting them.
GitHub login through Octokit, and MongoDB for storage. I wanted to see if the pieces fit together.
Mostly they didn't, at least not well enough to keep going. Two routers, two build systems, two ideas of what a page is, and I spent my time on the glue instead of the app.
It stopped on the twenty-second, right as everything shut down for COVID.
