Down To The Window
Milkish is four crates: tish-winit, tish-glow, tish-drop and tish-drop-host. April 2026.
Winit is how you get the operating system to give you a window and tell you about the mouse. Glow is OpenGL, so tish-glow is what actually puts pixels in that window. The two drop crates are a host and the thing it hosts, so the runtime and the surface it draws on can be separated.
Everything I'd built the month before sat on someone else's shell. egui came with eframe, and Floem came with its own event loop. Milkish goes under all of that: window, GL context, event loop, and Tish directly on top.
It's a foundation, not an app, but it's what the native Tish apps needed, and it only took a day because of what I'd learned on the projects before it.
