Dune Punk is a Cyberpunk 2077 theme collection built on the palette of Daemon 2.0: five color themes and two icon themes. In VS Code, VSCodium and Cursor it colors the whole editor, terminal and workbench. In Dune it goes much further and turns the entire app into a HUD — a salmon title band with cut corners, one-color outlined buttons with a detached bar, chamfered tabs and cards with corner ticks, a transparent window, scanlines and HUD motion.

The five variants each have their own attitude. Daemon is the original: neon cyan type on burgundy night with salmon frames and slate-teal selection. Netrunner is deep-net black with cyan ICE frames and magenta intrusion code. Arasaka is corporate red on indigo-black with yellow keys. Samurai is the 2077 HUD, with a yellow command band, red accents and cyan data. Edgerunner is three colors and zero chill — volt, ice and blood on void — with a cyan grid and a different accent edge on every panel. The two icon themes have around a hundred SVGs each: color-coded cut-corner hex badges and chamfered folders, or the Daemon look of cyan line glyphs in rings.

The design rules are strict. There are no rounded corners anywhere — every corner is square or cut at 45° — and the chamfers, corner ticks and accent bars are gradients on Dune's shape tokens, so they cost nothing at runtime. Panes are separated by a single one-pixel rule, never two. Controls follow the Kvantum style, and inputs, tabs, menus, dialogs and the chat composer share the same cut-corner card. Motion is a glitch on hover, a neon flicker on selection and a slow scan across the title band, all switched off under reduced motion. Because a theme only supplies tokens, the same theme works across all of Dune's layouts.

The themes and icons are generated from a palette and a set of variants by one build script, which validates every Dune-specific key against Dune's theme schema, checks every color is a hex value, and enforces WCAG AA contrast on text, tabs, the title bar, accents and segments. Releases are cut from conventional commits by sem, packaged as a .vsix and published to Open VSX.
