A Robot For The Blog
The Pay It Forward License needed people to know it existed, and I didn't want to spend my evenings writing about it. So in September 2025 I built something to do the writing for me.
I called it the PIF PR Automation Platform, which is a lot of words for a Node script. It finds trending open source projects through the GitHub API, then generates markdown: blog posts, feature articles, announcements and social snippets for a few platforms, with templates for each type. There's a scheduler so it can run unattended, and webhook publishing so the output can go somewhere without me touching it. It needs a GitHub token, and an OpenAI key is optional. There's also a demo mode that works with no token at all, so I can show it to someone in thirty seconds.
