Wrapped In A Window
April 7 2026. Zectre Desktop is a Tauri 2 shell, started from the Tauri React TypeScript template, that wraps the zectre-platform dashboard and points it at a local API on port 47080, plus scripts to build it in CI. The platform already ran as a local service, so the desktop app is a window and a menu around a dashboard that was already talking to localhost.
I wanted people to be able to click an icon instead of remembering a URL and a port. Tauri made that easy, and CI builds the installers.
