Somebody Has To Wrap It
Woodpecker.co was the cold email tool the studio used, and using its API directly from our code was painful, so in October 2017 I wrapped it and put it on npm as woodpecker-api. 1.1.0 was the first publish.
I wanted finding things to feel like a query instead of building URLs. Every call returns a promise. prospects().find takes an object that understands Woodpecker's terms: ids, campaigns, status, activity and interest. Date filters take either a diff object or a plain string like ">2017-01-01", so I could just write the string.
It shipped with tests and CI: Travis builds, Codecov coverage and dependency checks, since it was published under the agencyenterprise org and other people would be installing it.
