Soundsetr
A macOS desktop app for swapping Microsoft Outlook notification sounds: browse and download sound sets from a built-in shop, then install them into Outlook's SoundSet directory. Built in Flutter/Dart with macos_ui, ffmpeg_kit and audioplayers; published as v0.0.1-0.0.2 in December 2023 with a companion sound-set catalog, a GitHub-auth edge function for sharing sets, and a landing page at soundsetr.com.

I Could Not Stand The Sounds
Outlook's notification sounds hadn't changed in years and I heard them all day. Instead of just muting them, I spent eight days in Flutter building a macOS app that browses a shop of sound sets, downloads them straight into Outlook's SoundSet directory, and converts whatever audio you give it into the format the existing set uses.
November 26 to December 3. v0.0.1 shipped on the 3rd, v0.0.2 the day after. Built with macos_ui so it looked native, ffmpeg_kit for conversion, audioplayers for previews. Around it: a catalog of sound sets, a GitHub-auth edge function so people could share their own, and a landing page at soundsetr.com with the tagline "Change those old outlook sounds."
The app can install a sound set but can't make Outlook pick it, so I wrote four numbered steps with screenshots for that part, plus a note about .wav versus .aif and what to do if your sounds pop.
