First Rust
August 2024, six days. This is the first Rust I ever wrote.
It was a test of the Vercel Rust runtime, vercel_runtime plus tokio, trying to merge several API routes into one binary instead of paying for a function per endpoint. It didn't go anywhere, but it was my first time actually running cargo build on something of my own, nine years after my first npm package.
The rest of 2024 was a personal site, pie.vg, Nanana, and Cana coming back around in November. No language projects. Anise and Tumeric were nine months away, and Tish another year after that. It all started with me trying to save on a couple of serverless functions.
