A Blue Dot Moving
May 14th, 2018. An Expo React Native app that asks for location permission, gets your coordinates, and puts you on a MapView. That's all of Ride.
I wanted to see how much it took to go from an empty Expo project to a dot on a map that follows you. Not much: ask for the permission, await the position, hand it to the map. No Xcode, no provisioning profiles, no native modules, just a QR code and the app running on my phone. That's why almost everything I prototyped that year was Expo.
Eight days later I started Cruise on the same stack, and six weeks after that Go Map AR put a camera on top of the same map.
