A Shortener Of My Own
In January 2015 I wrote Pulpo Loco, a self hosted URL shortener at pulpolo.co. PHP on Tipsy, MySQL or Postgres, Nginx and Apache configs included, and the same Heroku deploy button I was putting on everything that year.
It was one of a family of small self hostable apps I built on Tipsy, each one a useful tool and a test of the framework.
It reached v2.0.0 at the end of November 2015 and got a v2.0.1 patch in January 2016. Then on August 7th 2026, the same day I shipped Tipsy 2 across the whole family and gave Beer Please a release, Pulpo Loco got updated too.
