Shirts Printed On Demand

On November 1st, 2020 I started two things at once: an Expo app and a Next.js backend. Kersplat was custom apparel dropshipping. You design something on your phone, someone else prints it, someone else ships it, and nobody holds inventory.

Most of my time went into the app, and most of that into the editor. Placing art on a shirt and having it look right is the core of the whole thing, and it's tricky on a phone screen. The rest is a catalogue and a checkout.

I'd been close to this before. In 2018 we built a custom apparel design and render pipeline at the studio, so some of it was familiar. I worked on Kersplat until July 2021, and by the end of that year it was live at kersplat.co.
