Scala, Django, And A Shell Script
Boostable came to me in June 2016 through youbeo, and getting it running took twenty steps. Init the submodule for lib/web-core. Build the MySQL container, run it, then in another shell load the schema, or the whole database if you had Google Cloud access. Set up the API, build it, run it. Then Django, then npm, then bower, then over to the client folder for npm and bower again, then gulp, gulp sprites, gulp copy.
One line in the setup notes: "Some of the steps below break on node 6. Does work on node 5.7.0." Node had just moved to a faster release cadence and native modules broke a lot.
It was a Scala API on sbt, a Django server, a Bower and Gulp client, MySQL and nginx, held together by build and run shell scripts I wrote by hand. I didn't pick that stack; the project came to me already moving. sbt recompiles on request, so the API had to be up before Django started.
