TheLata.com
RawCMS-powered site for thelata.com and inthemiddlerecords.com (music/records, with admin, images and music subdomains) that I built in late 2005; also carried FriendBot download ads.

Records, And An Ad For Myself
On thelata.com, a client's records site, I put up a free download banner for my own MySpace bot. Cross promotion.
The site ran on RawCMS again, covering thelata.com and inthemiddlerecords.com with images and music subdomains. This install was further along than the earlier ones. The index did its own URL routing: it took the request URI, split it on slashes and walked the pieces in pairs into the GET array, so I had clean URLs before any framework I used offered them. It also had page caching, a robots.txt and Google site verification, since I'd started paying attention to search engines.
thelata.com was still up in 2025.
The Web Site For A Label
in the middle records was an indie label. Its site ran on my servers from 2003 until it went quiet.
I did a lot of music sites. Later I started designing RadioRadio, an indie label and store site at Owl Technology, and I spent a long time on artist panels, cart graphics and ad banners for people selling records online. This one came first, and I only hosted it, but it needed the same things: a catalog, a place to be found, and someone to keep the server up.
