Character Histories And A Fader
Every page typed by hand. In 1997 I had a Dragon Ball Z fan site at arzynik.tripod.com/dbz with "Copyright 1997-2001" along the bottom. Character histories, episode summaries, a gallery of images I saved off other people's pages one right click at a time, a guestbook, a chat page, and a JavaScript fader I was very proud of.
Tripod was free, and I was a kid on dial-up with no money, so that's where it went. Static HTML, tables, and whatever tags I'd picked up from viewing source on sites I liked. I kept adding to it until late 2001.
The next site on the same account was already turning into a personal site, and after that came a PostNuke portal, and then a CMS I sold licenses for.
