Certificates On Localhost
On January 15th, 2018, three days after I stopped working on a deformable pet, I started metapay: a tiny Node server, one page, and a pair of local TLS certificates.
MetaMask put an Ethereum wallet in the browser, and to talk to it properly you needed a secure origin, so even a one-file experiment needed a local server and a self-signed cert. What I actually wanted to figure out was what a checkout looks like when the payment is a wallet signature instead of a card form.
I didn't spend long on it and it never left localhost. It was the last of my crypto payment experiments in that stretch, after Blankbox, apibtc and Cryptogift.
