Squishing A Model In Three
Eight days after pettactoe, still working on the same pet idea, I dropped the game part and went after the animation. Deformpet, January 11th, 2018: a React app with a small server and three.js doing the work.
I wanted to see if I could make a creature feel alive in a browser without an animator. Not keyframes or a rigged model from a store, but a mesh deformed directly at runtime so it squashes and reacts when you touch it. three.js could handle that by early 2018, and WebGL meant no install and no native build for either platform.
I worked on it January 11th and 12th, and that was the end of the virtual pet experiments. On the 15th I was doing MetaMask payments instead.
