Give Someone A Coin
Three weeks after I put apibtc on npm, on November 23rd, 2017, I started cryptogift: a Create React App front end talking to the Poloniex API.
The idea is in the name. In late 2017 everyone had a relative asking how to even buy this stuff, so I wanted a way to give someone crypto without making them open an exchange account. Poloniex had the long tail of coins, so pricing and pairs came from there.
It was my third crypto project in seven weeks: Blankbox in October, apibtc on November 2nd, and this on the 23rd. I learn a new technology by making a bunch of small things with it, and that's what this was. Six weeks later I'd moved on to virtual pets and three.js.
