Jmp2.net was my URL shortener, and the homepage was four lines: Jmp2 Tool. Jmp2.Net. MiniURL v1.0. Copyright 2005 The Arz. Paste a long address, get a short one.
In October 2006 I built a Firefox toolbar for it, so you could shorten the page you were on without leaving it. Extensions back then were XUL and JavaScript zipped up with a different file extension. This was a couple of years before Twitter made short links a big deal.
The toolbar got to 1.13 and I kept working on it into 2008. The domain stayed up long after that.
