PhotoShow
Simple Star was the biggest company I ever worked for. PhotoShow was a social photo album at photoshow.net with themes and internationalization, on a PHP and Java backend, and I worked on both ends.
It was also my first real release process. Until then my versioning was a number I typed in before zipping a directory. Here there were numbered builds, 1.4 through 1.7, CVS, and other people's code sitting next to mine.
I was there from May 2005 to April 2006, and 2005 was a busy year. Owl Technology had started in March, ArzDev was still doing freelance sites at a hundred and fifty dollars each, and FriendBot had started in April and was about to become my full-time thing. After Simple Star ended in April 2006, I didn't have an employer for a while.
