Cryptu, Bundle Id Co
In January 2018 I started building a crypto portfolio tracker. Cryptu, React Native on Expo SDK 25, bundle id co.cryptu, because I'd bought cryptu.co first.
It ran from mid-January into late July. It had a server, cryptu-server, and sat alongside other crypto stuff I was working on: portfolio rebalancing code, an ApiBtc npm client, a Filecoin project. Prices in, holdings in, a number out. The hard part was that every exchange did its API differently and the coins I actually held often had the worst data.
The timing was funny. December had been the peak, and six weeks into building an app to show what your position was worth, most people didn't want to know. I kept building through spring and into summer. There was also a Metapay experiment around MetaMask that same month, and a Bitcoin Fax tool a few months before.
