Selling Shirts To Space People
Not the rockets. The store. In October 2019 we started work on the SpaceX online shop: a Rails app and a Shopify script editor, so discounts, cart rules and the logic that decides what a customer actually pays. It wasn't a big build.
Everyone hears the client name and pictures telemetry. It was Liquid, line item scripts, and a merch checkout that had to hold up when a launch went viral and everyone showed up at once. Shopify only gives you a few places to write code, so everything had to fit in those.
In March 2022 they came back for a full theme with a new front end, and that work kept going until September 2023.
