An NFT Marketplace For Raregoods

In late June 2021 a client called Raregoods wanted an NFT marketplace. It was about three weeks of work and wrapped on July 13.

I built it on a Next.js boilerplate with Storybook, Jest and component generators set up from the start. Storybook was really useful here, since a marketplace is mostly a grid of cards in a bunch of states: loading, sold, on auction, owned by you, owned by nobody. Building those on their own was a lot faster than clicking through the app.

The rest was regular marketplace work: listings, state, and making a slow chain feel like a fast page. The studio's crypto work went back to 2018 and included a Filecoin node written in Go, so this wasn't our first one.
