A Rider App And A Driver App
Bound was delivery logistics, and we built it as a pair: an app for the person ordering and an app for the person driving, in three weeks. The backend went up on May 11th, 2021 and we were done by June 3rd. I'd spent four years at Crunchbutton on pretty much this exact problem, so I already knew where the hard parts were.
Next.js 10 with Tailwind, MongoDB with migrations, Routific for route optimization, Twilio for driver texts, Mailgun for email, Google Maps for the map. Most of it was wiring those together around one question: where should this driver go next, and how do we tell them.
