One Request For Everything
In 2009 every icon on a page was its own HTTP request, and browsers only opened a handful of connections at once, so forty little PNGs could really slow a page down.
So I wrote a small PHP library for it. Feed it a set of images, it runs ImageMagick, and out comes one sprite plus the CSS classes to slice it back apart. I wrote it in June 2009 and put it up in September 2010.
It never had a version number and I don't think anyone but me used it. Around then devin.la described me as a "Los Angeles based web developer, designer, software, video, guru."
